The units of the image are Jy/header-clean-beam.  The peak flux is the 
total for an unresolved object.  Else Peak * (major * minor) / (CBmaj * 
CBmin) gives the correct flux.

It depends on the quality of the fit.  If some noise bump outside the 
"source" is significant, then the width will be extended in that 
direction and the peak reduced to account for all the +'s and -'s.  That 
is one of the reasons to keep the islands small - just on what our eyes 
would say is the source.
