New Ticket: Shared memory id failure: Invalid argument


new Mac laptop.  10.7.4 (Lion) OS.

starting AIPS, i get:

Shared memory id failure: Invalid argument

from http://www.aips.nrao.edu/aipsmgr/ i tried the Leopard instructions:

On the latest "leopard" systems, /etc/rc is gone and creating it will have no effect. You need to create an /etc/sysctl.conf file and put the values in it,

            kern.sysv.shmmax=10485760
            kern.sysv.shmmin=1
            kern.sysv.shmmni=32
            kern.sysv.shmseg=8
            kern.sysv.shmall=4096

but this had no effect.  tried upping shmmax to 16777216 but that had no effect.

apparently that web page needs an update for Lion...
