This is odd - the two lines in question definitely have the required @ 
signs in my copy.  Check /Volumes/Data/AIPS/31DEC09/SYSTEM/UNIX/DADEVS.PL
(grep for "shift" and it will show the 2 lines with 1 in between)

This failure will cause trouble if you try to use all the grammar 
associated with DADEVS files.
