That section refers to determining the IF dependent D terms and source 
polarizations or just moving directly to do channel-dependent ones. 
Since you must solve for channel-dependent source and D terms in the 
EVLA and cannot really use the IF only terms those paragraphs should be 
skipped.  Go straight to spectral PCAL followed by spectral RLDIF.
