Hi Claire,

The problem is/was with averaging in the EVLA correlator.  For all of this D config up to this weekend if you asked for more than 1 second averaging (say n second averaging) you got samples every n seconds as you asked but the what you were actually getting 1 second of data every n seconds, rather than an average of n seconds of data.  So lets say you asked in the the EVLA for 4 second averaging, your sensitivity would be 1/2 what you expect, because you will have 1/4 the data you expect.  Is that clear?

Anyway, this has nothing to do with AIPS or UVAVG, so if you used 1 second averaging in your experiment and are averaging in UVAVG then there is no problem.
