[daip] installing aips problem

   We are trying to install aips on an iMac running MAC OS 10.4.4.  We are linking to g77 -g -w to compile the fortran routines and gcc-4.0 to compile the C-scripts.  
   We run into problems in INSTEP2 when it fails to compile the fortran subroutines.  The error message is:
/usr/bin/ld  Undefined symbols

It then goes into some loop of failing to compile the routines before "Abandoning Ship".

Any advice you can give is much appreciated.
