[daip] VLANT with 31DEC08

Hi Julie and Alison,

I am writing you both since you have the same problem.  I am currently seeing if 
I can find a machine that can reproduce the problem with VLANT.  I know that on 
the Macs that we have tested so far VLANT works.

Did you do a binary install of AIPS?
