Having stared at UPDRSYNC I see a couple of things to think about.

1. The rsync of $LOAD simply timed out.  I think we should give it much 
more than 2 minutes before timeout - so I will change that.

2. The display of COMRPLs and COMLNKs is a cat of two files in the 
UPDATE area - COMRPL.UNQ and COMLNK.UNQ.  It would be interesting to see 
if they are empty files which they should not be.  THe UNQ files on my 
machine have the following wc's:

primate<469>$ wc *.UNQ
   99  693 6534 COMLNK.UNQ
    3   21  198 COMRPL.UNQ
   23  138 1221 PUTBCK.UNQ
   27  220 1707 REASONS.UNQ
    0    0    0 REMOVE.UNQ
  152 1072 9660 total
