AIPS questions should be addressed to daip at nrao.edu. The analysts use
aips some but are not responsible for it.
VLANT usually has to download the information even from this year which
is updated at irregular intervals by the analysts and so is not
distributed with aips. It uses web tools to do this. The file it
fetches goes to /tmp named baselines.vlais09 (this year). The files
distributed with AIPS for previous years are in $AIPSTARS
($AIPS_ROOT/TEXT/STARS) under names such as VLA.ant.2008. If the
download is what is failing, then you can use whatever to get the latest
file in pub/VLA/baselines at ftp.aoc.nrao.edy and move it to the area
under the suitable 2009 name.
We have had reports on Mac books with the latest OS of the task failing
after the download. We have been unable to confirm or debug those
reports since it works flawlessly on the data sets in question on our
workstation running the latest Mac OS and on another workstation used
for the MNJ link edits running an older Mac OS.
I am not sure what it is we might do to help under these circumstances...
