Hi

I am slowly getting closer and closer to an installation of aips
31DEC08 on my new machine, which is running linux in 64 bit mode.
Could you comment on the problems I am having.

 - FILAIP would not work as this machine is 64 bits, so I could not
use the binary installation, therefore I assume I have to do a
compiled installation.

 - For this, in addition to the usual files, I found I needed to
install the packages libxext-dev and x11proto-xext-dev to make XAS
compile.

 - Compiling APCLN.FOR failed as the subroutine KWYPCP (keyword copy)
could not be found:

      IF (.NOT.OLD) CALL KWYPCP (FVOL(2), FCNO(2), VOL(3), CNO, 0,

I find no other calls to this. For now I have skipped it (editing
the QYPMG.LIS). Where is the subroutine? How much will the absence of
APCLN effect me?

                 Thanks

                               Richard
