Progress:

I have a solution but I do not dare implement it for everyone since I 
leave tomorrow for an 8-day trip probably away from e-mail or at least
ways to fix a bug.  So I will put it into aips when I return and then 
you can run a MNJ (31DEC08) to update your installation.
