Dear Nicola,
Just to clarify, if you do an echo $AIPS_ROOT after LOGIN.CSH AIPS_ROOT is set
correctly? But after typing AIPS it is set incorrectly?
Do you source LOGIN.CSH in the same window as you try to run AIPS?
Look in START_AIPS and see if AIPS_ROOT is set correctly.
