You have a choice - run evan as a VLA computer or run it as an AOC
computer.  It must actually run as a VLA computer in order to access
on-line fillm (non AOC computers cannot access the AOC data areas for
on-line data).  To do this

cd /home/evan/AIPS
source LOGIN.CSH   (for csh, tcsh)
. LOGIN.SH         (for bash)

Then say

aips

This is required for all machines not at the AOC.
