I am not sure what you mean.  Are you referring to the MNJ e-mails?
The addresses for that are set up in $SYSLOCAL/UPDCONFIG and are usually 
not correct after install.pl.  There are several places which can send 
mail from the MNJ - UPDCONTROL can send a special report (Manager action 
required - you remember them), UPDERROR can send an error message. 
these use "mail" quite simply.  UPDREPORT which runs always looks for 
sendmail and does a more complicated message management.  Note that you 
have copies of these in $TST/$ARCH/UPDATE that you can change although 
they can get overwritten should I change the master here.

The only other mail that aips does is on GRIPE where messages are 
e-mailed to daip not users.
