Two points - the libraries we have shipped to you are compiled with
the Intel compiler.  Your linker may or may not be happy with this.
The files that control local computation are $SYSLOCAL/FDEFAULT.SH and
LDOPTS.SH.  Both now contain reference to our Intel compiler.  If you
add a COMPILER=<pathname>gfortran it might work.  We have tested
gfortran 4.2.1 on Linux and it worked okay.  Earlier versions did
not.  Since gfortran has not been tested on Intel Macs it may not be
mentions in your files.  You can copy whatever it says for gfortran
(add it to the case statement) in the $SYSLINUX version of these
files.
