Dear DAIP,

I'm reducing some data for VLA project AK641 (extragalactic HI), and have
encountered a message that someone might be able to help with.

I am in the "Chapter 4" stage of initial calibration. I have copied the
tables over to my line data, used 'BPASS' and 'POSSM' to calibrate and
examine the bandpass, etc. However, I run into a problem when I use
SPLIT:

I'm getting the following message when I try to use the task SPLIT:

CABORO> SPLIT1: UNKNOWN POLARIZATION PARAMETERIZATION =
CABORO> SPLIT1: PROBLEM WITH SOURCE: HI1208+115
CABORO> SPLIT1: FAILED TO SELECT VALID DATA
CABORO> SPLIT1: Destroyed UV image file: catno= 3 disk= 1
CABORO> SPLIT1: Purports to die of UNNATURAL causes

I searched and this is only DAIP archive message that I could find:

http://listmgr.cv.nrao.edu/pipermail/daip/2001-October/001797.html

I don't think that the case described case applies to me, however, the
error message is the same. Nevertheless, I tried copying the AN table
over to the LINE data, just as I did with the FG and CL tables. Still the
same error message.

So, I tried to start over, and simply SPLIT the raw, uncalibrated data UV
files, and I get the same result.

Have others encountered this message? If there is any more information I
can provide, please let me know.

Thanks for your time and help,
Brian Kent
