[daip] abort kills TV

The TV should not abort but it may depend on exactly where in the
current command sequence it is occurring.  The fact that the TV lock
daemon thinks that you are still using the TV is not suprising on the
assumption that the abrupt abort is a kill -9.  Otherwise the XAS
abort handler should catch the exception and would shut down the lock
daemon. Very strange - I have not changed XAS in years.  I suspect a
change in the operating system (you have a different kernel than I do
I believe).
