[daip] Installing AIPS on a Mac Intel

All I can suggest is that you cd to the load area

$AIPS_ROOT/31DEC07/MACINT/LOAD

and look at the permissions on all files XAS*

This seems to say that you do not have execute privilege for the file
XAS.
