[daip] AIPS installation

I'm an Italian student e I've been doing the PhD at the Astrophisic 
Observatory of Catania (Sicily, Italy).
I should install AIPS on my linux version KUBUNTU EDGY 6.10 but I have 
some problems with the compiler and with the libraries, even if I try 
to use the compiler GNU 2.95.3, as you advise.
Maybe my linux version is lacking in something.
Can you help me?
