[daip] Interactive Mapping of Observatories, Planetariums, and Astronomy Clubs Update

Hi,

I wrote to you about six months ago announcing a new initiative by Mapmuse.com- the interactive mapping of observatories, planetariums and astronomy clubs across the US. We initially researched and populated these maps ourselves, with the idea in mind that astronomy enthusiasts would subsequently add to, and enhance, the information we provided. Since this project was launched, astronomy enthusiasts have made hundreds of additions and enhancements to our maps. If you were one of these contributers, we’d like to thank you for your help. We now have one of the most comprehensive databases of observatories, planetariums and astronomy clubs in the US, and we are averaging well over 10,000 visitors a day to the Mapmuse.com site!
 
I’m writing today for two reasons. First, if you know of any observatories, planetariums and astronomy clubs that are new or have closed in the past six months, we would appreciate it if you would make those changes to the maps. Also, please feel free to add any observatories, planetariums, or clubs that are still missing. The following information can be provided for each place or club- the name, descriptive text, a photo, contact information, and a link to a website This basic listing is free.

The second reason I am writing is to let you know about our new premium listing. If you own or manage an observatory, a planetarium, or an astronomy club, you also may want to consider this option for $10/ year. This listing will give you an enhanced map presence, top listing in search results, additional photos, and the ability to lock in your information (full info is on the site).
