   Fortran 90 is supposed to include all of ANSI 77 and aips is pure
ansi 77.  It should compile.  We have tested GNU 4.0 compilers and
they fail.  We have not tested 4.1.

Note - we provide binary load modules for Linux, Solaris, and Macs all
of which should perform better on any machine than the outouts of the
GNU compilers.

I can help you much more (possibly anyway) if you send real
information rather than summary comments.
