that version gets a lot further. However it appears to get stuck when writing
the tables at the end (or perhaps is just very slow). The message output is:
jop15 > VBGLU2: Task VBGLU (release of 31DEC05) begins
jop15 > VBGLU2: Create es054b .VBGLU . 1 (UV) on disk 1 cno 3
jop15 > VBGLU2: File ES054B_2 .UVDATA. 1 on disk 1 covers
jop15 > VBGLU2: time range 0/ 9 30 24 - 0/ 21 10 59 and has 1311820 vis
jop15 > VBGLU2: File ES054B_1 .UVDATA. 1 on disk 1 covers
jop15 > VBGLU2: time range 0/ 9 30 24 - 0/ 21 10 59 and has 1303695 vis
jop15 > VBGLU2: Wrote 1311820 spectrally merged visibilities
jop15 > VBGLU2: 119212 of which will have some blanked IFs
jop15 > VBGLU2: MAXPTR = 194251 243439 99840

It's been sitting at that point for a few hours now (much longer than it took to
get to the table writing stage). 'top' indicates that it is still working
rather hard (99% CPU usage).
