[daip] A serious error with 31DEC05 Aips task IMAGR

This is quite a complicated process that you have followed. Have you
corrected the uv values as well? Otherwise there will be two
different scales in the data and images should become double with
separation depending on distance from the center.

I will have to copy your data for sure. It is odd that IMAGR thinks
the bad data are there at the level of being able to delete it with a
FG table. I suspect that this is due to the bizarre things that have
to be done to the data to make them conform to a reasonable structure.
If IMAGR was producing bad stripes I would have seen it as would 100's
of others long ago. But it does deserve a look. Tracy Clarke asked
me to look at the GMRT data "mess" to see if I could make an AIPS task
that would correctly adjust the data without all the elaborate steps
you have undertaken. I have been too busy to do it so far - perhaps
sometime soon.
