Dear AIPS Manager:
I have installe dAIPS and compiled it.
Everything seems okay. I modified the /etc/services
file and the windows TEKsrv et MSGsrv appear.
Everything's okay too. But, there is no XAS-TV windows.

The error says :
-----------------
XASERVERS: Start XAS on localhost, DISPLAY :0
XAS: ***********************************
XAS: ** depth = 24 > 8!XAS: ** Sorry, must limit to 8
XAS: ***********************************
XAS: No pseudocolor visual - No suitable visual: No such file or directory
XASERVERS: Start graphics server TEKSRV on localhost, DISPLAY :0

However, my screen has 24bits in depth.
See my xdpyinfo :

Why doesn't it work?
It should, no? Cos I read on the FAQ of AIPS:
"The AIPS TV can only support 8 and 24 bit displays (32 and 24 should be
equivalent)"

Nb= I do not want to use 8 bits.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Laurent Chemin
