I addressed this on the mnj e-mail server.  You can subscribe to that
following the instructions on our home web page concerning mail
groups.

cd $AIPS_ROOT/TEXT
rm -rf UPDATE

and these messages will go away.  I do not know how that area appeared
and it has no use so we are trying to get rid of it.
