I have finally address this antique problem with MCUBE.  Beginning
today you can force it to make a SEQ.NUM. axis even if some real axis
has differences between the planes - that would make a decent axis or
that would not make a regular axis.  The task attempts to write the
ignored coordinate values into the history file.  Restarts that fill
in more of the cube later had a problem with this but by Monday
(depnding on the MNJ schedule) that will be solved as well.  The
solution includes adding a header keyword IGNOREAX to say which axis
(in the output cube) was ignored in building it.

Sorry this took so long, but I gues there were work arounds...
