[daip] problem installing aips on mac osx

Chris,

To be honest, I don't think we've built AIPS with tiger and the gnu  
compilers yet.  We suggest if you have the bandwidth to get the  
binary version (install.pl -n) of AIPS which is compiled with the IBM  
compilers and is considerably faster. I will look at the building  
from source to see if I can reproduce the problem on one of my tiger  
machines with the gnu compilers.
