[daip] installation problem "can not guess host type"

This is due to a very old version of READLINE that we used to ship.
31DEC05 has a much more recent version which would guess your host
type accurately.  However, it is usually best to point readline to
/usr/lib/libreadline.a or one of its "clones" - install.pl is smarter
about that now too.  When you try this over again, get a new tar ball
and things should work better.

(It was going over my older Inbox where I noticed that this readline
error kept coming up - so we fixed it.)
