I've helped Sam out on and off for many years during my stint at AIPS

Dear Dr. Murphy,

I'm installing 31DEC04 on a linux box, Red Hat Fedora Core 3, using the gnu
2.95.3 compilers, and I notice that I have to uncomment the 2.95.3 options in
FDEFAULTS.SH, and comment out the corresponding 3.2+ lines.

I don't mean to add to your workload (and perhaps this has been addressed in
the latest revision of the wizard), but it might be useful to first-time
installers to have an option in the wizard to specifiy that one is using the
2.95.3 compilers, in which case the wizard could make these needed adjustments
in FDEFAULTS.SH. At present, it seems to not distinguish between the different
gcc compiler revisions, necessitating this manual check when using 2.95.3

But this is a minor inconvenience. The wizard is fantastic and I am very
thankful for it.

  Sincerely yours,

Sam Conner
