The routines you have sent are very old - last revised by us in 1998
or so.  We have made changes to them in the interim - so I will have
to try to merge the changes if I can understand them.

The reported error in CL2HF was a set of bad call sequences that
matter on LInux but not solaris or some such.  I think the versions
you sent have that fix in them.
