Hi folks,

I would like to CONVL a cube of ~12 planes (part of an RM project).
Right now I am running into CONVL complaining that it can not
convolve images that are blanked. However, upon inspection of the
12 planes, none of them seem to be blanked, and in fact, I can
run CONVL on each of them individually. Is it possible that when
MCUBE runs it inserts a line about Magic Value Blanking into the
header of its output. Here's the MCUBE header I'd like to convolve:

AIPS 4: Image=C1SNAK3 (MA) Filename=SNAK3 .MCUBE . 1
AIPS 4: Telescope=VLA Receiver=VLA
AIPS 4: Observer=AL552 User #= 1977
AIPS 4: Observ. date=07-OCT-2001 Map date=09-NOV-2001
AIPS 4: Pixel type: FLOATING Magic value blanking
AIPS 4: Minimum=-9.00000763E+01 Maximum= 4.13114141E+04 DEGREES
AIPS 4: ----------------------------------------------------------------
AIPS 4: Type Pixels Coord value at Pixel Coord incr Rotat
AIPS 4: RA---SIN 512 17 44 15.000 256.00 -3.000 0.00

AIPS 4: STOKES 1 7.0000000E+00 1.00 1.0000000E+00 0.00
AIPS 4: ----------------------------------------------------------------
AIPS 4: Coordinate equinox 2000.00
AIPS 4: Map type=NORMAL Number of iterations= 372
AIPS 4: Conv size= 15.00 X 14.00 Position angle= 0.00
AIPS 4: Rest freq 0.000 Vel type: OPTICAL wrt YOU
AIPS 4: Alt ref. value 0.00000E+00 wrt pixel 1.00
AIPS 4: Maximum version number of extension files of type HI is 1

The only line that appears to be different is this one:

AIPS 4: Pixel type: FLOATING Magic value blanking

Is there a way (using puthead or axdef) to get ride of this magic
value blanking? Or is there some other problem with trying to run
CONVL on a MCUBE output?

Many thanks,
Cornelia
