I have solved the problem with FILLM and PRTTP in disk files - the last records were very short so that there were 2 in less than the space normally occupied by 1. Changed a NE to GT and now all is happy. BTW - PRTTP issued the error message too - in the message window rather than in the printing window. Eric Greisen
