Subject: Question for BN020 DAT tape
Dear Mr. Sjouwerman
My name is Aya Yamauchi.
I am a graduate student in the Nobeyama Radio Observatory.
We observed with the VLBA + phased VLA on 05 Jan. 2003.
The project is BN020, and the P.I. is Professor Naomasa Nakai.
I am studying under Prof. Nakai and now reducing our VLBA data using AIPS.
Firstly, I read FITS data from DAT, using a task ‘FITLD’ (AIPS Ver.
31DEC02).
The following error massages were shown.
FITLD1: ---------- FILE 8 LOADED ----------
FITLD1: Sky frequencies (MHz) before re-ordering occurs:
FITLD1: Incoming FREQID # 1
FITLD1: 21765.80 21776.18 21788.05 21796.21
FITLD1: Warning: table type OB is of zero length
FITLD1: Attaching data to BN020 .UVDATA. 4 Vol: 1
FITLD1: CL table interval set at 1.00 minutes
FITLD1: Current file has 24169 visibilities
FITLD1: File ref. freq: 21765.80 MHz
FITLD1: Found IC1481 at 1/00:54:43 src # 5 was 1
FITLD1: fqid # 1
FITLD1: Found 2320+052 at 1/00:56:04 src # 4 was 2
FITLD1: Found IC1481 at 1/00:57:04 src # 5 was 1
FITLD1: Found 3C454.3 at 1/01:00:41 src # 2 was 3
FITLD1: ZTPWAT: ERROR 3 FOR LUN = 31 IBUFF = 2 TO REMOTE
FITLD1: The following may or may NOT apply:
FITLD1: ZERROR: IN ZTPWAR ERRNO = 5 (I/O error)
FITLD1: ZERROR: IN ZTPWAR ERRNO = 5 (I/O error)
FITLD1: This usually means PARITY ERROR
FITLD1: TAPIO: ERROR 3 READING FILE
FITLD1: UT2UV: ERROR 3 TRANSLATING UV BINARY TABLE
FITLD1: ERROR 3 RETURNED FROM BTRTAB
FITLD1: Purports to die of UNNATURAL causes
FITLD1: mpu4m 31DEC02 TST: Cpu= 136.8 Real= 422
I tried FITLD four times, but the task were unsuccessful four times
with same error messages at same position (FILE 8).
I executed FITLD with the following parameters.
Please tell me how to read FITS data successfully.
If the cause of the failure results from the DAT tape,
can I get FITS data for BN020 again ?
I am looking forward to hearing from you very soon.
Sincerely yours,
Aya Yamauchi
