The error is not minor although easily fixed and the installation
did not go all the way to the end. Perhaps you stopped it when asked
a password (would occur only if you had a previous version
installed).

This suggests that the file $AIPS_ROOT/DA00/DADEVS.LIST mentions
many disks that are either actually unavailable or which do not have a
rw 0-byte file named SPACE in them.

cd $AIPS_ROOT
source LOGIN.CSH (or for bash . LOGIN.SH)
$CDTST
RUN FILAIP password if asked AMANAGER

0 POPSDAT TST
x=0 or just a plane carriage return will do
