Amy - could you get a new tape issued, make sure it is okay and then
get it sent to her?

Thanks, Eric

Subject: problem with BM081B tape
Date: Fri, 21 Mar 2003 17:33:49 -0500 (EST)

Hello Eric,

I am having problems reading from one of the BM081B (98JAN27) dat tapes.
The tape in question has three files, job numbers 9025-9027.

There appear to be two problems and both occur during reading of the first file:

 1. the tape read quits after 0/10:47:10
 2. the construction of the file becomes corrupt around 9:45 when there is a
source that is not in the SU table.

I tried reading this tape several ways:

 1. After successfully reading the previous BM081B tape (job numbers
9020-9024), I tried appending 9025-9027 to the file and ran into the above
two problems in the reading of job number 9025. When I ran LISTR on the
combined output file (job numbers 9020-9025) I got lines such as

  34 Not in SU table : 0000 HELP 1 0/09:44:16 - 0/09:47:52 1 104654

for sources not in the SU table.

 2. I tried FITLDing the 2nd tape (9025-9027) alone. In this case, LISTR
     could not read anything.

LISTR1: TABINI: REQUESTED FQ FILE 1 DOES NOT EXIST

 3. I tried reading on two different machines.

Below, I include the FITLD output and the LISTR outputs. Any ideas as to what
is wrong?

Thanks,
 Alice Argon
