"crazy" is not well defined - what do you mean?

No - in general one calibrates and flags the separate IFs or
whatever they are first.

I have no idea what telescope you have used or what your data look
like. Please send IMHEADER outputs from all three data sets above

This requests a spectral-line output where 3 channels are
"averaged" as channels 1-3 into output channel 1, channels 2-4 into 2,
channels 3-5 into 3, and so on.
