[daip] 31DEC01 to 31DEC02 update problem.

hello,

i was running the install.pl for updating from 31DEC01 to 31DEC02 for the 
university of oklahoma.  i was following the instuctions for 
installing/updating from the website.  one of the instructions stated that i 
must use the same $AIPS_ROOT area and to just continue hitting carraige 
returns for all of the "screens asking for information about hosts, 
diskareas, printers, tape hosts, and TV services."

i then modified the AIPSPATH.CSH file, setting 31DEC01 as OLD and 31DEC02 as 
NEW and TST.

when all of the compilation and linking was finished  i ran aips.  it 
assigned the correct data areas, but when i tried to run mcat, the output 
shoed nothing.  i looked in the areas, and the data files are still present 
(including SPACE), so i know that the data is still there.  i just cannot see 
it when in aips.

have you run into this problem before?  do you have a suggestion?

if you recall, i was in socorro for the summer school and ran into  a problem 
with imagr getting "Misplaced Data" errors.  these things seem to follow me, 
although you can tell eric that this does not involve imagr.
