[daip] problems with XAS

Hi Eric et al,

I have a silly problem with XAS. For your information,
the place were I'm spending a sabbatical is running 15OCT99.
I have an Ultra10 running Solaris 8. Starting up aips
gives the following result:

XASERVERS: TVSERV is already running on host coyotl, user ebrinks
XASERVERS: Start XAS on coyotl, DISPLAY :0.0
XASERVERS: Start graphics server TEKSRV on coyotl, DISPLAY :0.0
XAS: ***********************************
XAS: **  No TrueColor found
XAS: **  Resorting to PseudoColor
XAS: ***********************************
XAS: Using screen width height 1270 924, max grey level 196
XAS: ***  Using shared memory option for speed ***
X Error of failed request:  BadAccess (attempt to access private resource 
denied)
  Major opcode of failed request:  131 (MIT-SHM)
  Minor opcode of failed request:  1 (X_ShmAttach)

XASERVERS: Start message server MSGSRV on coyotl, DISPLAY :0.0

As advertised I put the following lines in /etc/system

* AIPS specific settings for XAS to work

        set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=8388608    
        set ufs:ufs_HW=6291456
        set ufs:ufs_LW=4194304
        set priority_paging=1

Some other users have 

        set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=10485760      
        
instead, which I also tried, but to no avail. Any idea what the 
problem might be? And even better, how to solve it?
