Actually, as you've diverged from the recommended naming scheme (where
data areas reflect hostnames), the *default* action of the RUN script and
the AIPS startup results in you having no *selected* data areas.
There are two alternative remedies to this:
1) edit DADEVS.LIST to make all data areas "required":
+ /data8/AIPSDAT4
+ /data8/AIPSDAT5
+ /data8/AIPSDAT6
+ /data8/AIPSDAT1
+ /data8/AIPSDAT2
+ /data8/AIPSDAT3
(that's a plus in column one, exactly two spaces, and the area name).
2) Or, you could run the utility programs by hand thus:
RUN FILAIP DA=ALL
RUN POPSGN DA=ALL (has complex input: "0 POPSDAT TST <cr><cr>")
RUN SETPAR DA=ALL (not strictly necessary, but you may want to
set the "speed" parameter)
The DADEVS mechanism for selecting data areas assumes that DADEVS.LIST (or
DADEVS.LIST.${HOST} or ~/.dadevs) contains a list of aips data areas that
are on many different hosts, NFS accessible if necessary. The idea is to
let the user choose which ones she or he wants to include at AIPS startup
time. Making the data areas required forces their inclusion regardless of
whether the name of the directory matches the (uppercased) hostname, or
one of the arguments to DA= in the RUN or AIPS startup command line.
Hope this helps.
