It is not referring to TV channel but to some I/O socket channel.  Has
your operating system been upgraded?  Is XAS actually running?  You
might kill it, wait a while (5 min or so) and start up a new one.  Is
sssin still a system service on your machine?

It is hard to believe that anyone is still running an AIPS from so
long ago!  We do have a much better package now and it is easy to
install.  It is under a GNU license and hence may be downloaded from
the web.  We cannot even look at such old code to see what these
messages might mean beyond the general remarks I have made.
