I'm sure Ketan does, but he's strictly "here" on a volunteer basis now (he
left for greener pastures but is still on daip for now).
I will punt advice on the algorithm specifics to others in the group, as
I've not used OMFIT myself.

Did you cut/paste these from the screen, or extract them from a .LOG file?
If the latter, there may be stderr messages missing...
FWIW I was able to COMLNK the 31DEC99 version of OMFIT with no errors on
one of our Solaris systems (2.6, 77: WorkShop Compilers 4.2 30 Oct 1996
FORTRAN 77 4.2).

That is odd, especially if there were no intervening stderr messages. I
assume it's repeatable...
FWIW here's my link attempt:
LINK : Date is... Fri Mar 31 15:13:58 EST 2000
LINK : Interpret LINK \
LINK : /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/PREP/OMFIT.o
LINK : as PURGE=FALSE REPLACE=TRUE SAVE=TRUE STRIP=TRUE
LINK : plus /opt/SUNWspro/bin/f77 \
<snip>
LINK : -lsocket -lnsl -xarch=v8plusa -dalign -xlibmopt -s \
LINK : -o /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/PREP/OMFIT.EXE
LINK : Hardinked /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/LOAD/OMFIT.EXE
LINK : to /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/LOAD/OMFIT.EXE.OLD
LINK : Deleted /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/LOAD/OMFIT.EXE
LINK : Deleted /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/LOAD/OMFIT.EXE.OLD (boom!)
LINK : Moved /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/PREP/OMFIT.EXE
LINK : to /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/LOAD/OMFIT.EXE
LINK : Link of /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/PREP/OMFIT.o
LINK : ends successfully.
COMLNK : Deleted /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/PREP/OMFIT.o
COMLNK : Deleted /home/aips/31DEC99/SUL/PREP/OMFIT.f
COMLNK : Ends successfully
