John,

When you use ANTENNAS=0 with UVRANGE=0-150, you have the big(27x27) matrices
with a lot of blanks. The algorithm of CALIB can not survive so many blanks.
Rick Perley told me that such a behaviour of CALIB has been well known.
That is why it has been strongly recomended to use the recomended number
of antennas at each arm.

Another explanation of the problem is given to you at the J. Ulvestad's
message.

At the same time if you use a small value (say 0.01) for the weight outside
UVRANGE (WTUV), you'll probably get the solution in the case of ANTENNAS=0.

But the last investigation has only academic interest.

The more important is that you can not find the solution at A configuration
for the outer antennas (actually for the most of the antennas) using 3c86
(as well as any other primary calibrator).
So to complete your project you have to use more complicate flux calibration
using the secondary (compact) calibrators as well.
