Hello,

In my analyses of BR053D, for which observations were made beginning
1998 Sep. 16 and data were correlated beginning 1998 Sep. 29, I
differenced the CALC model delays used by the correlator (as
extracted from within AIPS) from CALC model delays created later
completely outside of AIPS.  Plots of these delay differences
revealed a sharp discontinuity between the models of up to ~300 ps
just as the epoch of observations crossed from just before midnight
(0:00 UT) on Sep. 16 to just after on Sep. 17.  I do not recall
seeing such a discontinuity before in other experiments dating back
to January 1997.

I proceeded to search for a discontinuity in the estimated delay
residuals to the models, and indeed I found them in the residuals to
the AIPS models.  I suspect there must have been something wrong in
the way these models were generated across the date boundary by the
Socorro correlator.

I attach two postscript files to illustrate.  The first contains
plots of differences between CALC model delays extracted from AIPS
and CALC model delays generated externally.  For these plots, B
represents EB, H represents HN, S represents SC, and M represents RO
(Madrid).  Although the plots show delays for only one observed
source, the discontinuities were equally evident across the date
boundary for all observed sources.  The second file contains a plot
of residual multiband delays contained in an SN table created by
FRING (with open search windows).  The discontinuities at the date
boundary are readily apparent in all plots.
