I am using PCAT on a disk with 903 files (mix of UV and MA types). I am
trying to get them sorted alphabetically and end up with some things out
of order. Here is the relevent info:
AIPS: 31Dec99 from about March 20, 2000.
Inputs to PCAT:
>inp pcat
AIPS 1: PCAT: Verb to list entries in the user's catalog (no log file).
AIPS 1: Adverbs Values Comments
AIPS 1: ----------------------------------------------------------------
AIPS 1: USERID 0 User ID. 0 => current user
AIPS 1: 32000 => all users
AIPS 1: INDISK 7 Disk drive #. 0 => all
AIPS 1: DOALPHA 1 > 0 -> alphabetize listing
AIPS 1: SLOT 0 > 0 -> start slot number
AIPS 1: < 0 -> end slot number
AIPS 1: = 0 -> all slots
Near the beginning of the output:
AIPS 1: 508 2179 B0149-16.99 .LCL023. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:25
AIPS 1: 509 2179 B0149-16.99 .LCL024. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:25
AIPS 1: 510 2179 B0149-16.99 .LCL025. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:25
AIPS 1: 511 2179 B0149-16.99 .LCL026. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:25
AIPS 1: 512 2179 B0149-16.99 .LCL027. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:25
AIPS 1: 9 2179 B0628-28.95 .FIX-I-. 1 UV 20-APR-2000 10:53:42
AIPS 1: 371 2179 B0628-28.99 .FIX-I . 1 UV 20-APR-2000 10:54:17
AIPS 1: 12 2179 B0736-40.95 .FIX-I-. 1 UV 20-APR-2000 10:53:42
AIPS 1: 309 2179 B0736-40.95 .ICL001. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:53:49
And somewhere about half of the way down the output of PCAT:
AIPS 1: 463 2179 B2327-20.99 .RCL016. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:24
AIPS 1: 464 2179 B2327-20.99 .RCL017. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:24
AIPS 1: 465 2179 B2327-20.99 .RCL018. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:24
AIPS 1: 466 2179 B2327-20.99 .RCL019. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:24
AIPS 1: 513 2179 B0149-16.99 .LCL028. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:25
AIPS 1: 514 2179 B0149-16.99 .LCL029. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:25
AIPS 1: 515 2179 B0149-16.99 .LCL030. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:25
AIPS 1: 516 2179 B0149-16.99 .LCL031. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:25
AIPS 1: 536 2179 B0149-16.99 .RCL001. 1 MA 20-APR-2000 10:54:25
Am I doing something wrong here?
Using the CATALOG verb I get the same problems.
