Dear Stephane,
I am very glad you like my idea. I am attaching the four files:
R250_FIT2 is Fig4(left); 27m roads, nearest side lobes optimized
R250_FIT5 is Fig4(right); 27m roads, side lobes optimized at the pr. beam
R190_FIT1 is Fig5(left); 20m roads, nearest side lobes optimized
R190_FIT2 is Fig5(right); 20m roads, side lobes optimized at the pr. beam
The first column is X; the second is Y; both are in meters relatively the
BLC of the mask.
I do not consider these configurations as final. I am working to create
more compact configurations with smallar size of the outer ellipce
trading (of cource) with sidelobes.
The imortant question is:
what is better to have very low nearest side lobes, but rather big far sidelobes
or
to have medium sidelobes at the total primary beam?
We need to have an answer carrying out a simulation or?

Your proposed approach is very clever and interesting. I would like to
evaluate the properties
of the two best arrays obtained with 20-m and 27-m roads, with sidelobes
optimization
over the primary beam in terms of Weighting and Tapering
Could you E-Mail me the coordinates of the stations so that I can
analyze the
beam properties ?
