First announcement:
The Thirty-second annual New Mexico Symposium will occur on 2016 November 4. The symposium will be hosted by NRAO and NM Tech, at the Science Operations Center in Socorro. We expect to fill a full-day schedule with oral and poster presentations, from about 9:00a through 5:30p.

The 51st annual Karl G. Jansky Lecture will be given by Professor Jacqueline H. van Gorkom after the symposium dinner in Workman 101. Prof. van Gorkom's public lecture is titled "Gas and Galaxy Evolution". There will be an informal reception following the lecture.

Astronomers from New Mexico and surrounding states are invited to attend the symposium and, if they wish, to present a paper. We particularly encourage students and young astronomers to use the symposium as a forum to present ongoing astronomical research. We can accommodate approximately 19 oral presentations and a large number of posters.

The will be no registration fee, but anyone planning to attend is asked to register, to facilitate our planning. The registration deadline is October 30th.

The meeting web page can be found at: http://www.aoc.nrao.edu/events/nmsymposium/2016/. In addition to a link to the registration form, it also includes details about oral and poster presentations, the Jansky Lecture, and local information.

Please distribute this announcement at your institution, to reach as wide an audience as possible.
