Its a pity that the writer wasn't required to actually use the
data-sheet to design something... Anyway, I agree with your
assessment, so the update to my external hardware interfaces document,
which I just released, shows the AD8138 being supplied for a single
+5V supply. I also agree with your point about the clamp diodes, and
have included those to my circuit.

As I stated before, interpreting ADI's data sheet for the AD8138 can<br>
be a REAL chore!<br>

And, if you think that's bad, try using some of their application notes<br>
regarding the same! On second thought, maybe you shouldn't!!! It<br>
can get QUITE frustrating!!!<br>

The deeper we delve into this sort of thing, the more profound become<br>
Rich's remarks that we should just go ahead and build a prototype; gain<br>
some real, first-hand knowledge; then begin to make some real
progress...<br>
