<p>This sounds like a good idea to me. The standard should be
referenceable. Who or what would be the appropriate agent to get
the DOI? Its host? The IAU FITS Special Expert Group?<br>

(v4.0) FITS standard document? The other versions (and the
supporting papers, I guess) have a DOI by virtue of having
been published in A&A. Having a DOI for v4.0 would make
referencing the latest version of the standard a bit more, uh,
