<div dir="ltr">Hi Jan,<div><br></div><div>Indeed, the reason why the setup produced by sched in the tv2d files is called default is so it is applied to every scan. sched assumes you will want to correlate everything.</div><div><br></div><div>This is probably a biased sampling, but I find calling the default setup "default" fairly reasonable. The situation where it doesn't produce your expected result is the one where:</div><div>1) you have a setup called default</div><div>2) you have one or more RULE sections that point at the default setup, and</div><div>3) collectively, the RULEs do not cover all the scans (and so some scans will get defaulted even though you might have thought you were being explicit in your selection)</div><div><br></div><div>The logic to determine if this was the case might be a little convoluted. Perhaps a simple warning print statement in the case that a rule with non-zero selection criteria references the default setup would suffice. Lol so you too Mike! Yeah the logic is confusing indeed. A blank<br>
name for SETUP, if it doesn't break the parser, would I think be<br>
more intuitive for a setup that should be applied to everything not<br>
covered by any RULE.<br>

Anyway, well, I can see how a special 'default' SETUP might be a<br>
useful feature. And looks like it is actually documented so I<br>
should've just RTFM earlier (vex2difx wiki: "A setup with the<br>
special name default will be applied to any scans not otherwise<br>
assigned to setups by rule sections")<br>

Btw, I didn't choose the unfortunate name of 'default' myself.<br>
<br>
It comes from the Template v2d (*.tv2d) generated by sked(?) and<br>
distributed with VLBA log files etc on the archive server.<br>
<br>
Probably there is some good reason for the 'default' in the *.tv2d<br>
as well.<br>
