<div>Dear AIPS developers,</div><div><br></div><div>I faced an issue with data flagging with EDITA. The issue is that the time interval which is actually flagged is unexpected and depends on the input adverbs in a strange way. Yuri Kovalev has approached you recently on this problem, but I provide further details here. </div><div>I tried to run EDITA with different solint. I saw your answer to Yuri that solint isn't related to the flagged time interval, but my tests show that the situation is more complex.</div><div><br></div><div>I am using AIPS 31DEC25, binary installation on my local workstation with Ubuntu 24.04.</div><div><br></div><div>My experiment is BP242A: wide C band, 16 IFs, observed on 2019 July 24 with 8 VLBA antennas. Scan on each source was about one minute.</div><div><br></div><div>Below are examples for the scan #48, source 0003-066.</div><div><br></div><div>There are two Tsys measurements within this scan (see attached file SNPLT_Tsys.png). All BR Tsys in IFs 1, 2, and 5 are too high, so I want to flag all the BR data for this scan in these IFs.</div><div><br></div><div>I run EDITA as follows:</div><div><br></div><div>task 'edita'; default;</div><div>getn 2; inext 'ty'; inver 0;</div><div>flagver 1; outfgver=2; reason 'Bad Tsys</div><div>dotwo 0; crowded 1; go</div><div><br></div><div>And flag 6 bad Tsys points. What data are flagged as a result is seen in the attached plot VPLOT_afterEDITA_solint_0.png. Data with no flags are in VPLOT_noflags.png. You see that only two narrow ranges around Tsys measurements are flagged. It is also so for solint=0.6.
